Terms & Conditions

For the purposes of these rental terms and conditions the words ‘we’ and ‘our’ refer to the owner of Cargurra Park Farm, and the words ‘you’ and ‘your’ refer to the guest.

Welcome: Thank you for choosing to book with Cargurra Park Farm. We look forward to welcoming you to our family farm. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking.

We accept the following forms of payment: Cash in Pounds Sterling, bank transfers, debit cards and credit cards (NB Not Amex or Diners cards)

Online bookings are only provisional until confirmed.

A contract will come into existence when we receive payment and accept your booking by issuing a confirmation of booking for the holiday dates shown in the holiday let agreement. The contract binds you & all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms & conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 33% of the holiday price is payable at the time of booking. Bookings made less than six weeks before your arrival date must be accompanied by the full amount of the holiday charge

Balance: is due two week prior to arrival.

Pets: Dogs are permitted but only by prior arrangement. Dogs are not to be left unattended in the cottage unless by prior arrangement with Amy or Julian. An additional charge of £20 per pet is added to your booking which covers additional cleaning. Maximum of 2 pets unless agreed in advance with us.

All of our cottages are non-smoking. You may smoke outside the cottages. Smoking anywhere inside the premises will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments. Candles must not be used inside the premises. This must be strictly adhered to and any damage or extra cleaning caused by smoking or using candles will be at the expense of you.

Cancellation: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately.

For cancellations made up to 28 days (4 weeks) before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total balance. For this reason we advise that you take out travel/cancellation insurance.  As we are a small, family run business, if we are able to re-let the cottage we will refund you the portion of the rental fee that we are able to recover from the replacement rental less a £20 admin charge.

Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking under exceptional circumstances that could not have reasonably been foreseen. If your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control (e.g. fire, flood or global pandemics), we would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation or dates within the same tax year, (between 1st April and 31st March)

  • If your chosen break is cheaper, we will refund the difference
  • If your chosen break is more expensive, you will need to pay the difference
  • If you choose to cancel our normal cancellation policy applies. The exception to this would be if we are forced to close by the government because of Coronavirus or if you cannot come because of local lockdowns. If you are locked down or self isolating please contact us immediately and we will do our best to re-let you cancelled week. If we can do this we will refund you for your cancelled holiday minus any costs we incur. If we are closed because of a lockdown, we will offer to move your booking to a week later in the year or next year or we will refund you as soon as we can (within 90 days).

Coronavirus and Covid 19: please ensure you and your family are fit and well before travelling to stay with us. You should not travel if you have any symptoms of Covid 19. If you develop any symptoms while on holiday with us you and your party are to return home immediately. You cannot self isolate at our cottages. If you do not return home you will be liable for any cancelled bookings made to prevent the risk of transition in your cottage and any of the cottages on the site.

Arrival: After 4 p.m, Please confirm an approximate arrival time after 5 p.m.

Departure: 9:30 a.m. Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 9 a.m. on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on arrival. Departure at 9am prompt, allows us to clean and prepare the cottage for the incoming guests. Please ensure that the there is no washing up left and that you have taken all recyclable items to the appropriate recycling bins.  Please leave your remaining rubbish in a black bin liner provided in the wheelie bin.

Damages and Breakages: Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

WiFiWe offer free WiFi throughout the cottages however we live in a rural area and the WiFi can go down through reasons beyond our control. We will always do our best to restore the WiFi as quickly as possible but cannot guarantee its operational capability throughout your stay.

Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Logs:  A reasonable amount of logs will be provided free of charge for your stay. Additional logs may be purchased from us for a small charge  Please only use wood, not coal in the log burners.

Data: Any data gathered during the course of this booking will be held on computer.

Providing Visitors with Anonymous Access

You can access our Web site home page and browse our site without disclosing your personal data.
Google Analytics: This cookie allows us to measure things like the time spent on the website, the source of the visit, which pages are viewed etc. The data is depersonalised and sent as numbers so there is no way of tracking back to the individual user of the site. This will help to protect your privacy on our website.

Google Adwords

Google adwords code allows us to track where our sales are coming from – which phrase was typed at Google that generated a click on an advert.
Our Web site does not enable our visitors to communicate with other visitors or to post information to be accessed by others.

Automatic Collection of Information

Cookies are only used to identify the customer, not to identify any specific customer traits. These cookies do not store any sensitive data.

We do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals. We do automatically log user’s IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit and the type of browser used. This is recognised by the web server and is only used for system administration and to provide statistics which the business uses to evaluate use of the site.

Data Collection and Purpose Specification

We collect the personal data that you may volunteer while using our services. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organisations. We do not collect or use personal data for any purpose other than the specific services such as feedback forms. If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, we offer you the means to consent to this new purpose: by indicating in a box at the point on the site where personal data is collected.

Disclosure and Visitor Choice

We do not disclose your personal data to other organisations.

Confidentiality / Security

We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from:

– unauthorised access
– improper use or disclosure
– unauthorised modification
– unlawful destruction or accidental loss

All our employees and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors’ personal data. We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to State institutions and authorities except if required by law, other regulation or for funding purposes.

Access to the personal data we may hold about you

We will provide you with a readable copy of the personal data which we keep about you, within a week – although we will before require proof of your identity. We will provide the information at a charge of £10.

We allow you to challenge the data that we hold about you and, where appropriate, you may have the data erased, rectified or amended. We reserve the right to refuse to provide our visitors with a copy of their personal data, but will give reasons for our refusal. We do, however, allow you to challenge our decision to refuse to provide you with a copy of your personal data.

We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.

This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the cottage with the same respect that they would with their own house.
